This script will enable you to take control of your website to prevent misbehaving bots from stealing your content, and hogging your bandwidth. The greatest benefit of this script is that it blocks bad behaviour, not an infinite & changing list of IPs.
Just stick this in its own folder, adjust for your settings, and include it from your index.php file eg: include 'new_directory/block_bad_bots.php';
Instructions are provided for setting it up. Try it, and see how it goes!
NOTE: Any scripts that access the directory & files where the "tracker" files are created may interfere with the correct operation of this script (eg. a host backup service). |
